Marianne Faithfull at Decca Studios, London | 1967 | Photographed by Gered Mankowitz
This photo session has always intrigued me because in Marianne's second memoir it's captioned as the recording of "Sister Morphine" in 1969 but her "look" is very 1967. (Except you can't see how long her hair is which would clear up the confusion.)
Mick's hair (in the photos that he's in) also looks very 1967. However it makes me wonder what made that recording session so important that Gered Mankowitz would immortalise it in his photographs.
