Thanks for the very good question! :) Hope you don’t mind the elaborate answer.
I don’t claim that those photos (the ones marked as my scans, not every photo I post, just to make this clear) are original images or that I own the only copy or even copyright. (Please see my Disclaimer page for a more extended statement on that.) What I do claim and I know to be true is that they have not been online before - or they have been, but in a much worse quality - and that I scanned them myself from vintage magazines and clippings (or alternatively that friends have scanned them from their collection and allowed me to exclusively use them.)
Whenever possible I add the name of the original photographer, but seeing as some of the photos are originally just clippings from 40 year old magazines or repros of random negatives people sell on eBay unfortunately I often do not know the photographer. If I could I would thank every photographer personally for their wonderful work! Digitalising a photo seems like nothing compared to that.
On the other hand it takes a lot of money to get all the stuff and then a lot of time to scan it, clean it up if necessary and then the energy to maintain this blog after a long day at work. I do this blog for fun and not fame, but recognition is still wonderful. Even one link back to my blog is a kind of recognition, a thank you if you will, and that’s all I ask for bringing you guys these photos. x Maggie
